Flags at all municipal facilities in Mississippi Mills have been lowered today, Thursday, April 9, 2026, to mark the National Day of Remembrance of the Battle of Vimy Ridge.

This is an update to the Flood Outlook Statement for the Mississippi River watershed issued March 30, 2026.

GIP Paving Inc. will commence construction on Highway 15 under MTO Contract No. 2025‑4048, with project limits extending from approximately 0.2 km north of Perth Road / County Road 10, northerly for approximately 10.8 km, to approximately 0.7 km south of Highway 7, within the Eastern Region.

Sections of Ottawa Valley Recreational Trail (OVRT) will be under rolling closures for approximately two weeks beginning Tuesday, April 7, 2026 from Ramsay Concession 8 to Smart Street to permit trail maintenance and brushing. 

The Municipality of Mississippi Mills is shaking off winter and diving into MM Spring Greening – a celebration of Arbour Week and Earth Day – running from April 18 to May 3, 2026. It’s the perfect time to dig in, pitch in, and help green up the community!

Lanark Community Alliance (LCA) is continuing its partnership with the Municipality of Mississippi Mills to advance affordable housing opportunities and help address growing housing needs in the community. 

A Flood Outlook Statement is to provide early notice of the potential for flooding based on weather forecasts calling for heavy rain, snowmelt, high wind or other conditions that could lead to high runoff, cause ice jams, lakeshore flooding or erosion.

On Monday, March 30, Mayor Christa Lowry sent the following letter to Lanark-Frontenac MP Scott Reid, outlining concerns to the Alto high-speed rail project.
