Press Release – Lanark County. Here are the highlights from the Lanark County Council meeting held April 10, 2024.

Please be advised the Almonte Cenotaph Renovation Project is set to begin Monday, April 15. .

To open last night’s meeting, Council held three public meetings, which will come before a future Council meeting for consideration. .

Flags have been lowered at municipal facilities in Mississippi Mills Tuesday, April 9, 2024 in honour of the National Day of Remembrance of the Battle of Vimy Ridge. On Easter Monday in 1917, the four divisions of the Canadian Corps fought together for the first time.

Council and Committee of the Whole will hold their regular meetings on Tuesday, April 9, 2024. Regular session is scheduled to start at 6:00 p. m. , followed by Committee of the Whole.

In the last few weeks, the Mississippi Mills Fire Department has responded to six grass/structure fires, five of which ignited from discarded ashes. Many people don’t realize the length of time required for ashes to cool enough for disposal.

The Mississippi Mills Fire Department has lifted the total burn ban for the Municipality, effective Friday, April 5, 2024. Burn Level Status is currently set at Level 1, which means conditions are optimal for burning.
