National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

September 29, 2026

Tomorrow, on the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we honour residential school survivors, their families, and the children who never came home. We also recognize the lasting impacts of the residential school system and the responsibility we all share to face this history honestly and contribute to the work of reconciliation.

Message from Mayor Christa Lowry

With work on Pakenham’s historic Five Span Bridge progressing ahead of schedule, Lanark County is hosting a community celebration on Saturday, October 3, beginning at 1:30 pm. Mississippi Mills is pleased to support the event and help spread the word.

Heads up, Gemmill Park/ Disc Golf users!

Work on the County Road 29 project will be moving through Gemmill Park. While construction is underway, Disc Golf Basket #9 and that portion of the walking trail will be impacted until further notice.

Please use caution near the work area and follow any posted signage. Thank you for your patience while this work is completed. 

We will notify everyone once the work has been completed.
