The Village of Pakenham will be buzzing with excitement this Saturday, June 20 as the Mississippi Mills Fire Department (MMFD) welcomes hundreds of firefighters for the 114th Eastern Ontario Firefighters Association (EOFA) Games – one of the longest-running and most storied firefighter competitions in Canada.

The Municipality of Mississippi Mills will begin its 2026 microsurfacing program on Wednesday, June 17.

A lifelong resident of Mississippi Mills, Jenny has been woven into the cultural fabric of our community from the very beginning. As a young person, she immersed herself in local arts programs. In adulthood, she became not just a participant, but a builder of our arts community, contributing through the Almonte District High School Drama Club and dancing with several local associations.

After a full day of competition, the excitement continues with the Eastern Ontario Firefighters Association (EOFA) Parade and Awards Ceremony on Saturday, June 20 in Pakenham.

Volunteers, business owners and community champions were honoured for the contributions to making Mississippi Mills a vibrant place to live, work and play at the fifth annual Mississippi Mills Community Awards.
