Heads up, Gemmill Park/ Disc Golf users!

Work on the County Road 29 project will be moving through Gemmill Park. While construction is underway, Disc Golf Basket #9 and that portion of the walking trail will be impacted until further notice.

Please use caution near the work area and follow any posted signage. Thank you for your patience while this work is completed. 

We will notify everyone once the work has been completed.

The Mississippi Mills Fire Department has been made aware of reports of individuals contacting residents by phone and claiming to represent the Fire Department while attempting to solicit donations.

Please be advised that the Mississippi Mills Fire Department does not conduct fundraising campaigns or solicit donations by telephone. If you receive a call from someone claiming to be associated with the Fire Department and requesting financial contributions, do not provide any personal or financial information. If you are uncertain about a call you have received, please contact the Municipality of Mississippi Mills directly to verify its legitimacy.

The Municipality invites residents to the third Public Information Centre (PIC) to learn about the preliminary preferred alternative solutions for the Gemmill’s Bay Wastewater Pumping Station (GBPS) and 
Mississippi Mills Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP), and to provide input.

Voter Information Letters are coming soon!

Election day is October 26, and eligible voters will be receiving mail with details on how to vote by mid-October. In the coming weeks, you may notice that you did not receive a Voter Information Letter. This is expected and because of acclaimed positions. Only eligible electors in Ramsay Ward and supporters of the French Public School Board (Conseil des Écoles Publiques de l'Est de l’Ontario) will receive a Voter Information Letter.

The Municipality of Mississippi Mills is proud to recognize Big Brothers Big Sisters Month and celebrate Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lanark County's positive impact on local youth and families. 

Lanark County residents are invited to pick up free tree seedlings during the annual Fall Seedling Giveaway on Saturday, September 19.

The Mississippi Mills Municipal Office will be closed Monday, September 7 for Labour Day.

The Municipality of Mississippi Mills will be flushing watermains throughout Almonte Ward from September 14 to October 30, 2026, between 7:30 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday to Friday.

The Municipality will be carrying out geotechnical investigation work from August 31 to September 4 as part of planning for the Northern Watermain Crossing Project.
