The Municipality’s Roads and Public Works team continues to respond to the impacts of storm events over the past two days.

A long duration heat event begins Wednesday, July 1 with Humidex values reaching 34 expected over the next four days. Environment Canada has issued an orange (high) warning for the region.

Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for our region this morning into this afternoon and evening.

Environment and Climate Change Canada is forecasting an extended heat event for the region this week.

Southeast Public Health’s Almonte office will be closed from Tuesday, June 30 to Thursday, July 2 to walk-in public.

The Mississippi Mills Municipal Office, as well as the Development Services and Engineering and Recreation and Culture Departments located at the Almonte Old Town Hall, will be closed on Canada Day, Wednesday, July 1.

A section of the Ottawa Valley Recreational Trail (OVRT) will be under a rolling closure beginning Wednesday, June 24 from Shaw Road to the Highway 417 overpass to permit trail grading and application of stone dust to the trail surface.  

Due to the Canada Day holiday on Wednesday, July 1, garbage and recycling collection in the Municipality will shift by one day for the remainder of the week.
