Born in Sri Lanka and trained in law, Sanjeev Sivarulrasa followed an unexpected but inspired path. His passion for astronomy and photography sparked a vision: to create a gallery that would showcase exceptional Canadian artists and bring contemporary art to a wider audience.

Bonnie McBain has always shown up for her community. As a young mom, she volunteered with her sons’ baseball and soccer teams, and today she continues to give generously of her time at Naismith Memorial Public School, where she helps children learn to read several times a week. Her support extends far beyond the classroom — she is a familiar and trusted presence at school events, fundraisers, and anywhere an extra set of hands is needed.

As we approach National Indigenous Peoples Day on June 21, we honour the rich histories, living cultures and enduring contributions of First Nationals, Inuit and Métis Peoples.

Jennifer is a tireless and deeply dedicated volunteer whose leadership has had a profound impact on the Mississippi Mills Youth Centre. After more than five years on the board, she now serves as its president, helping guide programs, support staff, and ensure youth have a safe, welcoming place to grow.

For more than 30 years, Allan ran Almonte Landscaping — but even after closing his business, his commitment to beautifying Mississippi Mills never stopped. He continues to generously share his expertise with the Municipality, advising on tree planting, species selection, and ideal locations. He also collects and distributes native trees and plants throughout the community, ensuring our natural spaces remain healthy and vibrant.
