Last night’s Council meeting started with two public meetings about planning.
The Mississippi Valley Conservation Authority’s (MVCA) Board of Directors received the 2025 Annual Report and approved the 2025 Financial Statements at our 58th Annual General Meeting held April 13.
Localized flooding may be occurring in some areas and on some properties. Floodwaters and water ponding around wells can compromise the safety of your drinking water. Southeast Public Health (SEPH) advises residents whose wells have been directly affected by flooding to boil their water for at least one minute at a rolling boil before consuming it, or to use an alternate safe water source until testing confirms the water is safe to drink.
Ontario residents are encouraged to review and update their school support designation with the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC) by June 1, 2026 to ensure accurate information is provided to Elections Ontario before the municipal and school board elections on October 26, 2026.

Construction season is nearly here!
Lanark County Public Works plans to complete pavement preservation on 17.2 kilometers of roads this year, with rehabilitation and paved shoulders scheduled for 16.5 km. The county oversees the construction, operation, repair, and maintenance of more than 560 km of roads and 82 bridge and culvert structures.
