Last night’s Council meeting began with a public meeting about a zoning change for 3122 11th Concession Pakenham.
A Water Safety Statement is to provide notice of high flows, unsafe banks, melting ice or other factors that could be dangerous for recreational users such as anglers, canoeists, hikers, children, pets, etc. Flooding is not expected.
This Water Safety Statement is an update to the Flood Watch for the Mississippi River watershed issued on April 28, 2026.
The nomination period for the 2026 Municipal Election is officially open.
At Tuesday’s meeting, Council approved the second round of funding for the 2026 Community Impact Grant Program. A total of $5,899 in grants and $3,800 in n-kind support will be given out.
Council and Committee of the Whole will hold its regular meetings Tuesday, May 5, 2026.
As the 2023–2027 Council term nears completion, we’re sharing a series of “report cards” by highlighting progress on Strategic Plan initiatives.
Today’s update highlights key projects supported through the Housing Accelerator Fund (HAF) and aligned with the Strategic Plan principle – Welcoming, Inclusive, Active and Healthy Community. Other HAF initiatives that support a welcoming and inclusive community - ending exclusionary zoning and 4-units-as-of-right.
Reduced load restrictions will be lifted as of Monday, May 4 in the Municipality of Mississippi Mills and across Lanark County.
