The Southeast Public Health (SEPH) Board of Health met May 28 in Kingston for the regular monthly meeting. The agenda package is available online.

Council heard from Brenda Fairbairn, Almonte Civitan Club member and fundraising chair for the club’s accessible community playground project, along with Margaret Miller, a local fundraising consultant hired to help with the campaign. They shared an update on the playground, which will be built next to the Almonte Civitan Community Hall on Almonte Street.

Here are the highlights from the Lanark County Council meeting held May 13, 2026.  

The Municipality of Mississippi Mills (Municipality) is conducting a Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA) study for the proposed expansion of the existing Gemmill’s Bay Wastewater Pumping Station (GBPS) and Mississippi Mills Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP).

A Normal status indicates that no flood conditions exist. However, even during Normal conditions, the inherent risk to personal safety associated with flowing water still exists.
