The forecasted snow will add an even more magical element to the Almonte Christmas Night Parade, which will go ahead as planned today at 5 p. m. The Municipality is monitoring the weather advisory in effect and our Public Works crews are prepared and out ensuring our roads and the parade route are ready for the arrival of Santa Claus this evening.

Press Release – Upper Canada District School Board. November 23, 2023 – The Upper Canada District School Board’s (UCDSB) Board of Trustees has elected Ward 3 Trustee Jamie Schoular as Chair and Ward 1 Trustee Lynda Johnston as Vice-Chair for 2023-2024.
This Sunday, December 3 – the Almonte Christmas Night Parade will start at the Almonte Civitan Club (500 Almonte St. ) and will end at the John Levi Community Centre (182 Bridge St. ) Both facilities will be open for parade participants to keep warm while they wait. The parade will leave from Almonte Civitan Club at 5 p. m.

News Release - November 24, 2023. Earlier this fall, the Municipality received a report identifying serious safety concerns with the building at 38 Main Street East in Almonte (Dungarvon Building), from the property owner’s engineer.
At last night’s meeting, Council heard a deputation from Elizabeth Gallant, Lanark County Climate Environmental Coordinator, with details about the. Lanark County Climate Action Plan.
