Paper water bills will have a $2 fee starting in March 2026. This $2 fee also applies to property tax bills, beginning in June 2026.

Curbside spring collection for leaf and yard waste in the Municipality of Mississippi Mills will take place May 21-23 in Almonte, Pakenham Blakeney, Appleton and Clayton. Please keep in mind that leaf and yard waste must be in biodegradable paper bags and items must be out at curbside by 7 a. m.
On Wednesday, May 15, there will be a routine test of the AlertReady emergency alerting system in Ontario. The test message will be distributed over TV, radio and compatible wireless devices and will occur at 12:55 p. m.
The Municipality of Mississippi Mills will soon begin the rehabilitation project for Union Street North, from Carss Street to Main Street East. Construction is anticipated to begin on May 21, 2024 and conclude in the fall.
The RV Disposal Station is set to open for the season on May 15, 2024. The station is located at 482 Almonte Street at the corner of the municipal garage, between the fire hall and the Almonte Civitan Club.
Hydro One has a planned power outage scheduled for Thursday, May 9 from 9 a. m. to noon.
At last night’s Council meeting, Council officially proclaimed May as Museum Month in Mississippi Mills. Mississippi Mills is fortunate to have three museums in our own backyard:.
Following temporary stabilization works completed on the belltower at Dungarvon Building (38 Main Street East) this winter, staff are continuing to monitor the situation. .
Mississippi Mills Council passed a proclamation at their April 23, 2024 meeting to declare May 5, 2024 as World Pulmonary Hypertension Day. Almonte Old Town Hall and the Falls will also be illuminated in purple on May 5 in recognition of World PH Day.
The main portion of work for the renovations to the Almonte Cenotaph has been completed. Further work will continue over the next few weeks, focusing on cleaning the Cenotaph structure and repainting the names.
