September 28, 2024. It is with great sadness that I learned of the passing of former Mississippi Mills Mayor and Lanark County Warden Al Lunney, this week.

In 1998, the Government of Canada officially proclaimed the last Sunday in September of every year as Police and Peace Officers' National Memorial Day. .

September 27, 2024. On behalf of Mississippi Mills Council and staff, I would like to express my sincere condolences to the family of Jim McBain, on the tragic loss of Jim this week.

Please be advised there are several planned power outages by Hydro One that will affect Mississippi Mills residents this Sunday, September 29. Hydro One’s planned outage from 7 a. m.

Please be advised that Mill Street in Almonte (from Almonte Street to Bridge Street) will be closed from 5-9 p. m. on Thursday, September 26 for Destination Almonte's Fall Street Market.

Please be advised that the Municipality of Mississippi Mills will be flushing the water mains in all areas of Almonte Ward beginning. Monday, September 30 to Friday, November 1, 2024.

The Municipality will begin sidewalk replacement works in Almonte this week. Construction is anticipated to begin September 19 or shortly afterward.

Please be advised that Hydro One has a planned power outage affecting all Ottawa River Power Corporation (ORPC) customers in Almonte on. Sunday, September 29 from approximately 6 a. m.

Press Release – Lanark County. Due to unforeseen weather-related challenges, Lanark County Public Works has revised the timeline for the reopening of Blakeney Bridge in Mississippi Mills.

The second Sunday in September was the commemoration date of Firefighters’ National Memorial Day established by the Parliament of Canada in 2017. Canadian flags at all federal buildings are flown at half-mast on this day.
