Municipal Update – Severe Windstorm Support

Our Municipal Emergency Control Group met on Friday May 27, 2022, to discuss operational impacts of the windstorm.  Municipal operations are returning to normal.  Some additional services that are in place to assist with clean up and recovery from the windstorm are:

Municipal update – Severe Windstorm Support and Clean-up

As a result of the severe windstorm this weekend, much of the municipality remains without power and will be facing significant clean up due to fallen trees and branches. Mississippi Mills Public Works department continues to patrol and assess areas. As roads are cleared for safety by Hydro One, municipal crews will begin clean-up around broken hydro poles. Windstorm Update - May 23, 2022

Office Closed: Due to the ongoing power outage the main Municipal Office at 3131 Old Perth Road will be closed Tuesday May 24, 2022. Almonte Old Town Hall Recreation & Culture offices will be open Tuesday 8:00AM to 5:00PM.

Garbage: Effective immediately (until June 3rd) residents can put out two garbage containers on their scheduled pick-up day without stickers.

Showers & Charging: The Almonte Community Centre (182 Bridge St.) is open for showers and cell phone charging 8:30AM to 9:00PM

Emergency Meeting of Council

Council will be holding an emergency meeting at 1:30 pm on Monday, May 23, 2022 to discuss matters relating to the sever storm that passed through the municipality over the weekend.
