Flags at all municipal locations will be lowered to half mast to mark the National Day of Remembrance for Victims of Terrorism. It is a day to remember every Canadian at home and abroad whose lives were cut short or forever changed by an act of terrorism.

The FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY online auction of services Is open for bidding. Bidding started on Sunday, June 12th and we already have reached almost 62% of our goal of $4500. Seventy-four services were donated by members of the community, businesses, and organizations. In Memory of Thora Pugh
It is with sadness that I share the passing of former Pakenham Councillor, Thora Pugh. Thora passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 15th, with her daughter by her side.
Thora was a pioneer. She was the first woman to be elected to Pakenham Council in 1982, and in 1988, became the first woman to serve as Deputy Reeve. She was also on Lanark County Council.

ATV Bylaw Restrictions Eased

Mississippi Mills is making it easier for ATV’s to access trails by relaxing restrictions. On June 7th, Committee of the Whole approved a motion that would permit ATV’s to travel on municipal roadways for the purpose of accessing areas of approved use on a one-year trial basis. Current restrictions will be maintained in the downtown core but eased elsewhere.
