Here are the highlights from the Lanark County Council meeting held December 11, 2024.

2025 Budget Approved: Lanark County Council has approved the 2025 Lanark County budget – themed “Renewed Energy” – with an overall budget increase of 3 per cent after an estimated assessment growth of 1.8 per cent.

The county will collect $45 million from property taxpayers this year, up from $43 million last year. Estimated gross expenditures are $134 million with revenues coming in...

From the Mississippi Valley Conservation Authority

Join us on Saturday, December 14, 2024 from noon to 6 p.m. at the Mill of Kintail Conservation Area for a day of festive family fun.

Please be advised that the holidays will bring some changes to the waste and recycling collection schedule in the Municipality. 

During the weeks of Christmas Day and New Year's Day, collection will shift ONE day. 

WEEK OF CHRISTMAS

  • Wednesday, December 25: Collection will now be on Thursday, December 26

  • Thursday, December 26: Collection will now be on Friday, December 27

  • Friday, December 27: Collection will now be on Saturday, December 28

WEEK OF NEW YEAR'S

On Friday, December 6, local MPP John Jordan met with the team at the Mississippi Valley Textile Museum to hear more about the $29,900 Capital grant they received from the provincial government’s Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) to begin building a new accessible kitchen.
