Howie Road Depot Reopening for the Season

The Howie Road Waste and Recycle Depot will reopen for the season on Wednesday, May 1, 2024.

Hours for the depot, located at 1470 Howie Road, Ottawa, are:

  • Saturdays: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

  • Wednesdays: 3 to 7 p.m.

Accepted items:

  • Cardboard (free)

  • Recyclables

  • Yard waste – leaves, brush (free)

  • Units containing Freon ($50)

  • Units with Freon removed and certified (free)

The depot will close for the season on November 2, 2024.

Almonte Cenotaph Renovations Continue This Week

The renovation project that got underway at the Almonte Cenotaph on April 15 continues this week with the main part of the renewal of the Cenotaph structure.

Please be advised there will be intermittent traffic impacts this week with one lane of Little Bridge Street closed. There may be brief periods of full closure on Little Bridge Street to unload materials.

No pedestrian impacts are anticipated.

Upcoming Five-Span Bridge Closures

From Lanark County

Please note the Five-Span Bridge in Pakenham will be temporarily closed on three occasions this month.

The closure is for Kinburn Sideroad from 82 metres west of Darks Sideroad to 62 metres east of County Road 29.

The closure times are as follows:

  • Wednesday, April 24 from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

  • Wednesday, April 24 from 9 p.m. to midnight

  • Friday, April 26, 2024 from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Detours will be in place. We apologize for any inconvenience.
