Please be advised that the Mississippi Mills Municipal Offices will be closed for Victoria Day on Monday, May 20, 2024.

There is no impact to the garbage and recycling collection schedule due to the holiday closure.

Our offices will reopen on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at 8:30 a.m.

Curbside Spring Leaf and Yard Waste Collection – May 21-23

Curbside spring collection for leaf and yard waste in the Municipality of Mississippi Mills will take place May 21-23 in Almonte, Pakenham Blakeney, Appleton and Clayton.

Please keep in mind that leaf and yard waste must be in biodegradable paper bags and items must be out at curbside by 7 a.m. on the day of garbage and recycling collection to guarantee pickup. Paper bags with leaf and yard waste do NOT require bag tags.

The Almonte Community Coordinators is now accepting applications for the Phyllis Goldsteen Bursary.

This $1,000 bursary will be awarded to an adult learner how has successfully completed one year of post-secondary education and who is returning to education after a break of at least three years. All applicants must be residents of Mississippi Mills.

Your letter of application should include:

  • Details of anticipation education

  • Academic achievement to date
