Garbage and Recycling
The Municipality of Mississippi Mills offers a wide variety of on-going waste management programs, all designed to help reduce waste in the environment. Along with weekly waste collection, the community participates in a curbside blue (fibres) and yellow (containers) box recycling program.

Hydro power
The Municipality is served by two hydro electrical distributors; Ottawa River Power Corporation (ORPC) and Hydro One. When making inquiries about hydro, please make sure to contact the relevant distributor. Generally, residents in Almonte are served by ORPC, and residents outside of Almonte are served by Hydro One. Some exceptions apply - please see the map for a general reference of service area.

In Mississippi Mills, police services are provided through the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP). Your closest detachment can be found in Carleton Place or Arnprior, depending on where you are in Mississippi Mills.

The Mississippi Mills Fire Department (MMFD) provides our Fire Services. The department consists of 48 highly trained volunteer firefighters. Administration consists of a Fire Chief, Deputy Chief and an Administration Assistant to the Fire Chief.

Since 2005, the Ontario government has approved 200 FHTs across the province. FHTs differ in size, location, number of sites, number of health care providers and the programs and services provided.
