is inviting area businesses to a wine and cheese networking event in Downtown Almonte. Come out and enjoy networking, live music, wine and cheese and the beautiful Sivarulrasa gallery. This is a great opportunity to meet other small business owners and tourism industry contacts.

It was a toast two hundred years in the making – Mississippi Mills Mayor, Council, residents, partners and community volunteers clinked their glasses together to celebrate the launch of the municipality’s Bicentennial ahead of last night’s Council meeting.

The first Mississippi Mills Council meeting of 2023 was recognized last evening with an annual Land Acknowledgement prefaced with a Smudging Ceremony offered by Algonquin Elder Larry McDermott from Shabot Obaadjiwan First Nation. Author Tim Cook To Visit Almonte

Mill Street Books, along with the Friends of the Mississippi Mills Public Library, are delighted to welcome Tim Cook to the Almonte Old Town Hall on January 22 at 2pm.

Tim is Chief Historian and Director of Research at the Canadian War Museum. He has won multiple awards, is a frequent commentator in the media, and is a member of both the Royal Society of Canada and the Order of Canada.
