It is with a great sadness that I share the passing of Trish Petrie.  Trish passed on the morning of Tuesday September 14th due to complications from a heart transplant. 

Trish had been an employee of Mississippi Mills since 2018 working in Public Works, Administration and the Fire Department.  She was an important and vibrant member of every team she was part of and will be dearly missed.

Firefighters' National Memorial Day - Sunday, September 12th

The second Sunday in September is Firefighters' National Memorial Day. The commemoration date was established by the Parliament of Canada in 2017. Canadian flags at all federal buildings are flown at half-mast today, as are flags at all municipal facilities in Mississippi Mills honouring those who have fallen in the line of duty.

This is also a day to recognize firefighters in our own community and across Canada for their courage, selflessness and unwavering commitment to serve their communities...

Water bills for the period July 1 - August 31, 2021 were emailed to paperless billing accounts yesterday,  September 8th, 2021, and the rest will be mailed on September 10th, 2021.  The due date is October 14, 2021.  If you don't receive a bill or have questions about your water account please call 613-256-2064 ext 224 or email  waterbilling@mississippimills.ca

Media Release: Five Arches Bridge closure slated for Sept. 22

Lanark County Media Release: For Immediate Release - September 8, 2021

The Five Arches Bridge in Pakenham will be closed on Sept. 22 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. to accommodate a masonry condition survey.

 Lanark County has retained WSP for engineering services to conduct a detailed enhanced investigation of the historic bridge and to complete the detail design of the selected rehabilitation strategy.

 A detour will be in place on County Road 20 (Kinburn Side Road), Regional Road 3 (Upper Dwyer Hill Road)...
