It is with sadness that I share the news of the passing of Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh and spouse of Queen Elizabeth II, at the age of 99.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced, “the thoughts of Canadians are with Queen Elizabeth II and the members of the Royal Family as they mourn such a significant loss”.
The Municipality will be lowering all flags at municipal facilities as per the National Flag Policy from now until sunset on the day of the funeral to mark the death of Prince Philip.

On April 7, 2021 the Province enacted the Provincial Emergency and Stay-at-Home Order effective as of 12:01 am this morning.
This order requires people to remain at home except for essential purposes to help reduce the transmission of COVID-19 with the increased risks posed by the COVID 19 variants.
