Her Excellency the Right Honourable Mary Simon, Governor General of Canada, invites members of the public to sign the book of condolences following the death of Her Majesty the Queen.

You are welcome to sign the book of condolences at Rideau Hall in Ottawa, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. EDT.

Members of the public wishing to leave flowers in honour of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II are invited to lay them by the large fountain by the Rideau Hall main doors.

It is with sadness that I share the passing of Retired Firefighter/Captain Peter Stanley. He passed peacefully on the morning of Wednesday, September 7th, surrounded by his wife and family. Peter served with the Almonte/Ramsay and Mississippi Mills Fire Departments from 1979 to 1999. 

Peter was a proud and dedicated member of our Fire Department for 20 years and provided exemplary service to our community. He will be deeply missed by his Fire Department Family.

At last night’s Council meeting, Childcare Services Director Anita Legault gave a presentation with respect to the 50th anniversary of Mississippi Mills Childcare Services (formerly Almonte Daycare Centre).
