My brand of municipal leadership is open, sincere, respectful, and forward-thinking. With everyone’s involvement, I believe we can continue to build and shape the community we all want to live in, both now and in the future.

Since 2014, I’ve proudly served the residents of Mississippi Mills first as a Ramsay Councillor and now in my second term as mayor.  Over this time, I was elected as Lanark County Warden and worked with leaders across Eastern Ontario on the Wardens Caucus.  As a rural advocate and community builder, I have served as a Director for the Association of Municipalities Ontario, Rural Ontario Municipal Association, Valley Heartland Community Futures Development Corporation, the Mississippi River Power Corporation and the Mississippi Valley Conservation Authority.

After growing up on my family’s dairy farm just outside of Almonte, I spent a dozen years studying and working as a professional musician before transitioning to a career in the health industry. I hold a double Masters Degree, having graduated from McGill, the University of Toronto and Laval University. Now and then you might hear me playing my trumpet around town as the duty bugler with the Legion, raising money for the Salvation Army, or at Porchfest.

Planning a ground breaking, grand opening or ribbon cutting ceremony?

Mayor Lowry would be happy to attend your celebration. To invite the Mayor or all members of Council to your event please contact Erin Levi.

I moved back to this community and bought a home here because it’s where my heart is. My family and friends are here. My roots are here. My goal in public life is to fulfill my responsibilities to the best of my ability, contributing in a positive and meaningful way to our community. I consider it a true honour to serve as Mayor of the place I love so much.
