Downtown Almonte Construction 2022-2023

On January 11th, 2022 Mississippi Mills Council authorized staff to award the contract for PW21-13 Downtown Core Infrastructure Renewal Project to Thomas Cavanagh Construction Ltd. The total contract value for Cavanagh’s work is $7,230,418.00 (13% HST Included).  This work is scheduled to commence March 2022 with final completion date of August 2023.  Mississippi Mills staff are currently working with Thomas Cavanagh Construction to refine the phasing and develop a more detailed project...

Due to staffing issues, please see Almonte daycare(s) short term closures.

 Thursday January 27th 2022 – The Kindergarten program at R. Tait Mackenzie will be closed in the after-school program.  The School age program will still  be operating at R. Tait McKenzie after school.   

State street, 110 Paterson and Naismith will continue to operate in all programs on the 27th.

Council began with the Annual Land Acknowledgement Ceremony. Algonquin ElderLarry McDermott from the Shabot Obaadjiwan First Nation was invited to address Council. Respecting Indigenous protocol, Mayor Lowry offered tobacco to Elder McDermott in request for the smudging ceremony and for his guidance to Council.
