Lanark County OPP Requests Assistance with Suspicious Death Investigation

The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is asking for the public's assistance in the suspicious death investigation of Rose Kerwin, whose body was discovered in a river near the Village of Pakenham on November 12, 2023.

Rose, age 50, had been reported as missing on November 13, 2023, and was last seen in the Carleton Place area.

Her vehicle, a blue 2013 Mazda GX four-door sedan, Ontario licence plate #CSXW383 is also missing. (See...

The nomination period is now open for the 2024 Ontario Volunteer Service Awards.

Organizations can nominate their volunteers for an Ontario Volunteer Service Award to recognize their continuous service ranging from five to 65 years. Youth (under 24 years old) can be recognized for two or more years of continuous service.

Police Presence Expected to Continue in Pakenham

Lanark County Ontario Provincial Police continue to investigate after the body of a female was found near Pakenham on November 12, 2023. According to the OPP, there is no threat to public safety, but Pakenham residents can expect to see a continued police presence as part of the ongoing investigation.

Public Notice of Intention to Pass By-law – 2024 Fees and Charges

TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Corporation of the Municipality of Mississippi Mills intends to pass a by-law to establish 2024 Fees and Charges for Services provided by the Municipality. 

Council will consider this by-law at its regular meeting on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers (3131 Old Perth Road, Almonte).
