MVCA Watershed Conditions Statement – Stay Clear of Waterways

With above seasonal daytime temperatures and several millimetres of rain forecasted over the next few days, the Mississippi Valley Conservation Authority (MVCA) is reminding residents to exercise extreme caution near rivers and waterbodies that have high flows and slippery bank conditions. No flooding is anticipated at this time; however, runoff amounts may result in higher water levels in creeks and streams, and along roadside ditches.

The winter of 2023-24 is quickly coming to an end, and the Municipality of Mississippi Mills, along with the Mississippi Valley Conservation Authority (MVCA) are monitoring for potential spring flooding.

Aquatic Reimbursement Pilot Program Now Open

Council officially endorsed the continuation of the Mississippi Mills Aquatic Reimbursement Pilot Program for 2024 during the February 20 Council meeting.
This program provides residents of Mississippi Mills with reimbursement for the difference between resident and non-resident fees charged for the use of aquatic programs (public swim fees, swim lessons, aquafit and similar programs) at municipal facilities in Carleton Place, Arnprior or West Ottawa.
