The Health Unit has invested in our Leeds, Grenville and Lanark (LGL) Vaccine Call Centre, and as a result we have increased our capacity to handle a higher volume of calls, and have trained call centre staff to manage more complex client requests. Council adopted Official Plan Amendment (OPA) 22 which expands Almonte’s settlement area boundary. The expansion areas consist of Area 1 (17 hectares), Area 2 (21.9 hectares), Area 3A (25.1 hectares), and Area 4 (8.9 hectares). The ticks are out!  When temperatures rise above 4oC ticks will be active. Enjoy the benefits of being outdoors by going for a hike, working in the garden or cleaning up leaf litter in the yard; but remember to be tick smart. Partial Fire Ban

The Mississippi Mills Fire Department (MMFD) has changed the burning status to a Partial Burn Ban.  The Partial Burn Ban will permit campfires in the Municipality in areas that are permitted to burn.  Almonte and Pakenham residents remain in a restricted burn area.

NOTE:  The Partial Burn Ban continues to restrict the use of burn barrels and the burning of brush piles and yard waste.
