Work to stabilize the building at 38 Main Street East began last week and is anticipated to take approximately eight weeks for completion. The Municipality’s Chief Building Official (CBO) exercised his authority to take over control of the project last week, to stabilize the building, eliminate the public safety hazard and reopen the road.
Last week, the Municipality’s Chief Building Official (CBO) issued a Stop Work Order on the 38 Main Street East property. An Order to Comply was also issued for the property owner to provide a revised evaluation report and design prepared by a Professional Engineer due to the owner not following the previously accepted remediation plan.

The Mississippi Mills Municipal Office will be closed for Thanksgiving on Monday, October 14. The Municipality's Building and Planning and Recreation and Culture Departments at Almonte Old Town Hall will also be closed October 14.
Please be advised that our Mississippi Mills Building, Planning and Recreation and Culture Departments at Almonte Old Town Hall are currently experiencing intermittent disruptions to phone and internet service. There may be delays in reaching those departments.
