Candidate Information

Nominations open May 1st, 2026

Returning Officers will be accepting Nomination Papers for the following offices:

  • Mayor
  • Deputy Mayor
  • Almonte Ward Councillor (2 offices)
  • Pakenham Ward Councillor (1 office)
  • Ramsay Ward Councillor (2 offices)

during the following timeframes:

  • May 1 to August 20th, 2026 during regular business hours of 8:30am - 4:30pm
  • August 21, 2026 between 9:00am – 2:00pm only (Nomination Day)

Filing must be completed in person at the municipal office (3131 Old Perth Road, Almonte). We strongly encourage you to contact the Elections Assistant at 613-256-2064 or elections@mississippimills.ca to make an appointment to file your Nomination Papers. 

You will require:

  • Proof of identity and residence
  • Filing fee
    • Head of Council (Mayor) - $200.00
    • All other offices - $100.00 

Payment can be made by cash, debit, certified cheque, or money order made payable to the Municipality of Mississippi Mills.
