The former Township of Ramsay is a mix of farming lowlands along the Mississippi River and the more rugged borders of the Canadian shield. Historically, the Indian and Mississippi Rivers played an important role in the development of Ramsay, and waterpower spurred both textile industries and agricultural growth.
