Every day, paramedics with the Lanark County Paramedic Services (LCPS) care for our community. Recently, they did so in a different way. On December 12th and 13th throughout Lanark County, more than a dozen paramedics and their families held their annual “Fill an Ambulance with Food” drives in Almonte, Carleton Place, Smiths Falls, and Perth.

It is with sadness that I share the passing of Retired Firefighter Eric Julian.  Eric passed peacefully on the morning of Saturday December 12th, surrounded by his wife and family.   Eric served with the Almonte, Almonte and Ramsay, and Mississippi Mills Fire Departments from November 1974 to November 2004.  

Eric “Neighbour” Julian was a proud and dedicated member of our Fire Department for 30 years and provided exemplary service to our community.  He will be deeply missed by his Fire Department...

The Leeds, Grenville & Lanark District Health Unit will leave a voicemail on your answering machine when doing Covid-19 contact tracing. They can only do so if they are certain they have reached the right person. They would need to hear your full name on the answering machine.

If possible please consider updating your outgoing message to include your name. This will make it easier to get you the information in a timely fashion.

Today the government of Ontario announced that the Leeds, Grenville and Lanark region will move from the Green–Prevent level to the Yellow – Protect level of the Keeping Ontario Safe and Open COVID-19 Framework. The sharp rise in COVID-19 cases in LGL over the past two weeks means that the region meets the criteria for the Yellow – Protect level, with a weekly incidence rate between 10 and 24.9 cases per 100,000.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic there has been an increase in demand for the food bank. On December 12th and 13th throughout Lanark County, paramedics will hold their annual “Fill an Ambulance with Food” drive in Almonte, Carleton Place, Smiths Falls, and Perth .
