Council and Committee of the Whole will hold its regular meetings Tuesday, September 1, 2026. 

During last night’s meeting, Council received an update from Tim Woods, Coordinator of the Lanark County Business Retention and Expansion (BR+E) Program. The program was recently launched to help local businesses grow, stay competitive and overcome challenges.

Homelessness has been increasing in Lanark County and across Ontario, particularly in rural Ontario. It is evolving, with visible homelessness becoming more apparent.

The Municipality will begin rehabilitation work on the Almonte Tennis Courts in Gemmill Park on Monday, August 31.

The 2026 Lanark County Warden’s Golf Tournament on August 14 was a great success, with 138 golfers participating and approximately $13,515 raised for the new Active Kids, Bright Futures initiative.

Families in Mississippi Mills and surrounding communities will soon have greater access to licensed early learning and child care thanks to the upcoming opening of the new Mississippi Mills Childcare Services centre, a transformative investment that more than doubles the previous centre’s child care capacity and creates 78 much-needed spaces for children and families.

Today at the annual Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO) conference, Premier Doug Ford announced that as part of the government’s ongoing record investments in community infrastructure, applications are now open for the next round of the $500 million Community Sport and Recreation Infrastructure Fund (CSRIF).
