Notice of Project Update – Highway 7 from Pauls Road to Carleton Place

The Ontario Ministry of Transportation (MTO) has retained the services of Egis (formerly McIntosh Perry Consulting Engineers Ltd.) to carry out the Preliminary Design, Detail Design and Class Environmental Assessment for the resurfacing, operational improvements, intersection improvements and structural rehabilitations on Highway 7, from Pauls Road to Carleton Place, Lanark County.

The Notice of Study Commencement was distributed on March 21, 2021, and a Notice of Project Update was distributed on May 4, 2023. In addition, an online Public Information Centre was held from September 7, 2023, to October 6, 2023. Since the Public Information Centre (PIC) was held in 2023, Egis has completed the evaluation of a left-turn lane at the Innisville Road North intersection, located approximately 0.23 km north of the Mississippi River Bridge for inclusion in the study.

The following has been added to the project:

• A left-turn lane for southbound traffic along Highway 7 at Innisville Road North.

Upon completion of the study, a Transportation Environmental Study Report (TESR) will be prepared. The TESR will document the existing conditions, socio-economic environment of the study area, the evaluation of alternatives, identify the preferred plan, summary of design features, potential impacts of the undertakings, and required mitigation measures. Once the TESR is finalized, it will be made available for a 30-day public comment period.
