Childcare Information

Mississippi Mills Childcare Services (MMCS) — formally the Almonte Daycare Centre — is licensed by the Ministry of Education under the Child Care and Early Years act, 2014.

All childcare programs are planned and implemented by qualified early childhood educators using Lanark County’s quality assurance resources to enhance quality in their environment. Specialized services such as ConnectWell (formally LEIP) and speech therapy also are available for your child’s individual needs.

The childcare centre is a secured environment which is monitored by the South East Health Unit, Ministry of Education, and Municipal By-laws.

Waitlist

NOTE: Lanark County is in the process of amalgamating all waitlists from participating CWELCC childcares. The list is expected to go live February 18. At that time, we will update our website and handbook with a link for families to register. Until then, we will not be adding families to our list.

Hours of Operation

Mississippi Mills Childcare Services at 208 State St. and 110 Paterson St. (attached to Holy Name of Mary Catholic School) are open Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. throughout the year, except for statutory holidays.

The Before and After school age programs located at Naismith Public School, R. Tait McKenzie, and Holy Name of Mary Catholic School are open Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to the start of the school day and from after school until 6 p.m. throughout the school year, except for statutory holidays.

Full day programs are offered during the schools' March Break and Professional Development (PD) days.

Summer Programs for our school age children run from the first week of July until the last week of August, unless otherwise stated.
