On April 7, 2021 the Province enacted the Provincial Emergency and Stay-at-Home Order effective as of 12:01 am this morning.

This order requires people to remain at home except for essential purposes to help reduce the transmission of COVID-19 with the increased risks posed by the COVID 19 variants.

In accordance with this Provincial Order, Municipal Facilities and Services will be closed to the public for four (4) weeks or until further notice effective 4:30 pm this afternoon. Municipal staff will be available by phone, email and zoom meetings to provide services to our residents.

For information on facility closures please see the below list:

Municipal Offices (3131 Old Perth Road)

  • no in-person appointments for marriage licenses, Commissioner of Oaths, tax/water bill enquiries, or building/planning services

Secure drop box for payments and documents available at rear of building

  • Staff available by phone and email

Almonte Old Town Hall (14 Bridge St.)

  • Tourism and Recreation Department are closed to the public. All yoga and fitness classes have been cancelled or postponed. No public events or public bookings will be considered until at least May 6th.

  • Public Washrooms are closed.

Community Centre's and Parks across the Municipality

  • All recreation activities and bookings at both the Almonte Community Centre and the Stewart Community Centre have been suspended until at least May 6th.

  • All outdoor recreation facilities are closed. This includes the Tennis Courts, Basketball Courts, Frisbee Golf, Skate Board Park and playground equipment. The new Covid-19 variant that has been linked to many local cases has been determined to spread more easily. Symptoms may also be more severe with an increased need for hospital care. We do not feel confident in our ability to ensure outdoor recreation facilities are sanitized sufficiently to ensure everyone's safety. In addition these facilities can encourage gathering, which can also lead to spread.

Public Works Garages and Fire Hall

  • closed to the public

Childcare Services

  • school age/kinder programs will operate from 8 am – 5 pm during the week of April 12- 16, 2021 and resume regular hours starting April 19, 2021.

Public Libraries

  • Almonte and Pakenham library branches are closed to the public. Curbside pick-up is available. Visit the library website for more information. https://www.missmillslibrary.com/

  • Water Bottle drop and pick-up for testing is open.

The Municipality appreciates your patience as we do our part to reduce the spread of COVID-19 in an attempt to keep our residents safe!
