NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING
PURSUANT TO SECTION 22 OF THE PLANNING ACT R.S.O. 1990, CH. P.13.
CONCERNING A PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO THE COUNTY OF LANARK SUSTAINABLE COMMUNITIES OFFICIAL PLAN (SCOP)
TAKE NOTICE that a Virtual Public Meeting will be held on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at 7:00 p.m., with respect to the following amendment:
Amendment No. 11 to the Lanark County Sustainable Communities Official Plan (OPA#11), County of Lanark File No. 09-OP-21003.
The purpose of OPA # 11 is to amend Schedule A to the Lanark County Sustainable Communities Official Plan (SCOP) to re-designate lands within the municipal boundary of the Almonte Ward, Municipality of Mississippi Mills to expand the Almonte Ward Settlement Boundary. The re-designation is based on a comprehensive review by the local municipality as per the population projections adopted by the County of Lanark for the Municipality of Mississippi Mills to the year 2038, and to accommodate a 70% of future growth to Almonte on full municipal services. This official plan amendment is being processed concurrently with OPA # 22 to the Official Plan for the Municipality of Mississippi Mills, being a comprehensive review for the Almonte Ward.
The effect of OPA # 11 is to amend Schedule A to the Lanark County Sustainable Communities Official Plan (SCOP) by re-designating lands to “Settlement Areas”. The expansion of the Almonte Settlement Area includes four (4) separate parcels of land which involves approximately 60 ha of land.
IF YOU WISH to be notified of the adoption of the proposed official plan amendment, you must make a written request to the County Planner, County of Lanark, 99 Christie Lake Road, Perth, Ontario, K7H 3C6.
IF A PERSON OR PUBLIC BODY does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the County of Lanark before the proposed official plan amendment is adopted; the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision of County of Lanark Council to the Ontario Land Tribunal.
IF A PERSON OR PUBLIC BODY does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the County of Lanark before the proposed official plan amendment is adopted, the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Ontario Land Tribunal unless, in the opinion of the Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to add the person or public body as a party.
