Curbside spring collection for leaf and yard waste in the Municipality of Mississippi Mills will take place May 21-23 in Almonte, Pakenham Blakeney, Appleton and Clayton.
Please keep in mind that leaf and yard waste must be in biodegradable paper bags and items must be out at curbside by 7 a.m. on the day of garbage and recycling collection to guarantee pickup. Paper bags with leaf and yard waste do NOT require bag tags.

Tuesday, May 21 – West side of Almonte (Wednesday garbage collection).

Wednesday, May 22 – Appleton, Blakeney, Clayton and the following subdivisions: Pakenham Golf Course, Oakland Crescent (Booth), Fairway Crescent, Julie Anne Crescent, Spruce Crescent, Senator (Torok, Emerich), and Heather Crescent (Carl Lee, Duncan).

Thursday, May 23 – East side of Almonte (Friday garbage collection) and the following subdivisions: Whitetail Ridge and Greystone/Stonehome Crescent.
Areas mentioned outside of the regions above are not collected curbside. Residents can bring leaf and yard waste to the following locations:

Beckwith Transfer Station (9271 Cavanagh Road, Carleton Place) Monday to Friday: 7 a.m. - 5 p.m. Saturday: 7 a.m. - 12 p.m. (Fees may apply)

Howie Road Depot (1470 Howie Road, Carp) May 1 - November 2, 2024 Wednesday: 3-7 p.m. Saturday: 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Pakenham Depot (580 Barr Side Road, Pakenham) Saturday: 8 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Accepted items: Leaves, brush, pumpkins, grass clippings, garden waste, tree trimmings, house plants. Clippings from trees and shrubs should be tied with string (no wire) securely in small bundles to permit easy handling.
Items NOT accepted: Kitchen waste, milled lumber, stumps or tree limbs with a diameter in excess of 50mm (2") – the depots will accept up to 150mm (6"), unbundled brush, sod, dirt, soil, stones, garbage, metal or animal droppings.
