Tax bills to be mailed out Monday, July 6
Payment is due in two installments:
- First installment: July 30
- Second installment: September 28
Pay from your phone by using the "pay a bill" feature in your banking app.

Paper water and tax bills now have a $2 fee. The next tax bill will be mailed out Monday, July 6.

Two new exhibitions are coming to the Mississippi Valley Textile Museum in May! Attend the vernissage for “Carole Baillargeon: Rock Paper Scissors” and “Tartan: Culture & Cloth” on Saturday, May 2 at 1 p.m. Both exhibitions will be on display until July 26, 2026.
Lanark County OPP received a call Friday, April 24, 2026, regarding a bear encounter in the Port Elmsley/Beverage Locks area. A person on a walk came upon a mother black bear and her cubs. The OPP would like to remind the public that the bears have recently come out of hibernation and until natural food sources become available they will be searching for food left outdoors such as garbage, pet food and barbecues.

Lanark County Paramedic Service (LCPS) has brought together hospital partners across the county, in partnership with the Mississippi River Health Alliance (MRHA) and Perth and Smiths Falls District Hospital (PSFDH), to implement a "Fit-to-Sit" approach in Emergency Departments — designed to improve patient flow, reduce ambulance offload delays, and keep paramedic crews available for 911 calls across the region.

This day will honour the thousands of missing and murdered Indigenous women, girls, and Two-Spirit people, while creating space for learning, dialogue, and community connection.
Localized flooding may be occurring in some areas and on some properties. Floodwaters and water ponding around wells can compromise the safety of your drinking water. Southeast Public Health (SEPH) advises residents whose wells have been directly affected by flooding to boil their water for at least one minute at a rolling boil before consuming it, or to use an alternate safe water source until testing confirms the water is safe to drink.
