With the addition of a Vaccination Clinic to the Covid-19 assessment and testing services offered on-site at the Almonte General Hospital, there has been a great deal of excitement along with many questions from residents. A collaborative team of staff and physicians from the Almonte General Hospital (AGH), Carleton Place & District Memorial Hospital (CPDMH), Lanark County Paramedic Service and the Ottawa Valley Family Health Team is working alongside the Leeds, Grenville & Lanark District Health Unit to offer vaccinations close to home for our community.
Recently the Leeds, Grenville and Lanark Health Unit lifted the Section 22 Class order in Mississippi Mills as the area transitioned into the Yellow – Protect, and as of today, the Red-Control level. For more information on the Red- Control level restrictions and measures please visit the.
As Lanark County’s Warden, I attended a very exciting announcement on Friday. All three levels of government across Eastern Ontario are supporting the Eastern Ontario Regional Network’s (EORN) Cell Gap Project and on Friday it was announced that Rogers Communications has been awarded the contract.

As a result, effective immediately (Tuesday, March 16, 2021), the OVRT (Ottawa Valley Recreational Trail) is closed to motorized vehicles until early April to allow for the trail to dry out.

Earlier this week, the Government of Canada announced the designation of March 11, 2021, as National Day of Observance for COVID-19.
