OPA 29

Last night the virtual information session for the Official Plan Amendment (OPA) 29 - Prime Agricultural Area Designation Review took place. Information sessions are an opportunity for residents to learn and ask questions in preparation for the Public Meeting. If you didn't get a chance to attend the information session, not to worry! The recorded session and presentation slides are posted at the bottom of this article and on the municipal website under Public Engagement - OPA 29.

The statutory Public Meeting for OPA 29 is scheduled for Tuesday May 4, 2021 at 6pm during Council. This statutory public meeting is for the purpose of giving the public an opportunity to make representation to Council regarding the proposed OPA 29 by-law amendment. Those interested in speaking at the virtual Public Meeting can register with mrivet@jlrichards.ca by end of day tomorrow, April 30, 2021. 

Comments and questions can also be provided to staff before the meeting on May 4, 2021 to be considered by Council. Please send your written comments to mrivet@jlrichards.ca referencing "OPA 29".

No decisions of Council will be made next week. A report which includes consideration of public feedback will come before Council for discussion and decisions at a later date. Given the significance of this issue Council is debating an extension to the comment period.  Comments and feedback about the report or about your specific property can continue to be provided to Mr. Rivet after the Public Meeting Date until a decision is made by Council.
