Council and Committee of the Whole will hold their regular meetings on Tuesday, April 5th. Council will begin with a closed session at 5:30 pm and will return to open session at 6:00 pm. The Committee of the Whole meeting will begin immediately following Council. Agendas for the meetings can be found here.

As we re-open Council Chambers to members of the public, pre-registration is required. Registration is open from when the agenda is published on Thursday, March 31st until 4:30 pm on Monday, April 4th. The registration form can be found here. While masking is not required members of the public are encouraged to wear a mask as social distancing may not be possible.

There are two public planning meetings at the Council meeting. These matters will likely commence shortly after 6:00pm.  The first matter is a zoning by-law amendment for 3232 12th Concession, Pakenham North. The second planning matter is for Official Plan Amendment No. 29 (OPA 29) – Prime Agricultural Area Designation (LEAR). Information on OPA 29 can be found on the municipal website.

Those wishing to speak at the public meeting are required to register with the planning department and all comments must be made virtually. To register please contact: mknight@mississippimills.ca Each pre-registered member of the public will be given 5 minutes to make their comments.

The purpose of this public meeting is to receive input from the public. No decisions of Council are made at a public meeting. Members of Council are present to hear the public’s comments but do not participate in discussion or debate during the public meeting.

The consultant/staff will prepare a report that includes the public comments, and where appropriate addresses the public comments.  The report will be presented at a future meeting at which time Council will debate and decide on the proposal. Written comments will continue to be received by the municipality until the respective by-law has been passed by Council.
