Please be advised of a temporary reduction of the speed limit on Main Street in Almonte, specifically between Martin Street and Union Street.

In accordance with the delegated authority granted to the Director of Roads and Public Works, effective February 13, 2024, the new temporary speed limit for the street will be 30 km/h.

This reduction has been put in place as a proactive measure to enhance the safety of both pedestrians and motorists in the designated area, and to allow for the placement of temporary traffic lights. The reduced speed limit of 30 km/h will remain in effect for a period of 180 days from the commencement date, unless revoked or extended by the Director of Roads and Public Works, based on ongoing assessments of safety conditions.

Please exercise caution and adhere to the revised speed limit for the safety of all community members. Your understanding and cooperation in this matter are crucial to maintaining a safe and secure environment for all.

Inquiries or concerns can be directed to Cory Smith, Director of Roads and Public Works, at csmith@mississippimills.ca.
