In yesterday’s announcement we let you know the splash pad would remain closed this weekend. This decision was made in line with the information we had from the province.
We have since confirmed on the Province of Ontario’s website that their ban on splash pads has been updated since the Thursday announcement. Splash Pads have been moved to “before” step 1 category meaning they are now permitted.
This came as a surprise late on Friday evening. There is work involved in opening for the season. Fortunately, staff anticipated opening soon so we are almost ready. We’re excited to announce the splash pad and public washrooms in Gemmill Park will be official open tomorrow Sunday, May 23rd 9:00am to 7:00pm!
We ask that park amenity users remain vigilant about social distancing and sanitizing before and after your visit. As per the provincial restriction gatherings with anyone outside your household must be 5 people or less. Please be courteous when using public spaces and abide by restrictions.
