Learning Again in Almonte: “Designing for Life,” a lecture with Paddye Man, this Friday, November 24. Part of the “Community Gems series,” in her “Designing for Life” lecture, Paddye shares insights she’s gleaned from 45 years as a designer. The lecture is from 7-9pm at the Almonte branch library. Please register here, attendance is by donation.

New Group in Town – Almonte Readers & Writers

Almonte Readers & Writers is a non-profit organization presenting literary events and programs to audiences in beautiful Mississippi Mills! A few programs will take place at Almonte branch. To learn more about what’s in the works, please visit www.almontereadersandwriters.org

Mississippi Mills Film Society presents To Kill a Tiger, on Sunday Nov. 26 at 2pm, at the Pakenham United Church. Tickets at ticketplease.ca. This film won TIFF’s Best Canadian Film award in 2022 and Best Feature Length Documentary at the Canadian Screen Awards this year. It is a NFB production. Profits made by the society are being generously donated to Almonte & Pakenham branch libraries.

Mill Street Books, Almonte presents an author evening at Almonte branch library. Meet author Brett Popplewell on Monday, November 27, at 7 p.m. at Almonte Branch. It’s not too late to register – contact Mill Street Books – 613-256-9090. Outsider is a great read. Books will be available for purchase and to borrow from the library too.

Understanding Human Trafficking: a presentation by Jo-Joe Van Hooser on November 30 from 7 to 8:30 p.m., Almonte branch library.

Dive into the heart of the issue! Stir It Up Collective & The Hub are sponsoring a presentation by Jo-Joe Van Hooser, Equity Diversion/Inclusion/Indigenization Worker with the Ottawa Childrens’ Aid Society.
