Please join us at the Almonte Civitan Club Tuesday, April 16, 2024 to celebrate the irreplaceable volunteers we have in Mississippi Mills!

The annual Mississippi Mills Volunteer Appreciation Reception is proudly hosted by The Hub, the Almonte Civitan Club and Municipality of Mississippi Mills. It will run from 6:30-8 p.m. All are welcome to attend. If you are a volunteer, love a volunteer or want to be a volunteer, we want to celebrate with you!

According to Volunteer Canada, there are over 24 million volunteers in Canada, who contribute over five billion hours every year.

Volunteering is putting empathy into action. It helps build communities where people feel happier, healthier and more welcome. This creates stronger, more connected communities just like we have in Mississippi Mills.

In Mississippi Mills, our volunteers are highly valued and play an important role in the community! Have you been to a local festival or event, walked through the halls of our schools, visited the Almonte General Hospital, the Civitan Club, Legion, libraries or churches? Have you played a local sport, visited one of our museums, used the services of Carebridge Community Support or participated in programs offered by Home Hospice North Lanark? If you said yes to any of these, you’ve encountered our tireless and passionate volunteers. All of these activities and special places exist because of the support of community volunteers!

Please join us at the Almonte Civitan Club Community Hall from 6:30-8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 16 and mingle with old friends at a reception featuring live music and a decadent dessert or two!
