The Carleton Place & District Chamber of Commerce along with the Ontario Chamber of Commerce has partnered with the Ontario and Federal Government to provide Covid Rapid Antigen Test Kits to businesses across the province who wish to test employees in the workplace.

The COVID-19 Rapid Screening Initiative will provide free rapid antigen tests for employees of small and medium-sized businesses (SME's). The goal of the program is to identify asymptomatic cases of COVID-19 in the workplace that might otherwise be missed, helping to curb the spread in the workplace, at home, and around the community.

Kits are now available at the Chamber office. This program is open to all local businesses with under 150 employees in Carleton Place, Beckwith, and Mississippi Mills to start and any business in Lanark County who cannot access the test kits in their region (business with over 150 employees order direct from the government website at https://covid-19.ontario.ca/get-free-rapid-tests ). The Rapid Test Kits will be provided at no charge.

Full details on the program can be found on the chamber website at https://cpchamber.com/covid-rapid-screening-program/.
If you are interested in receiving kits for your business we encourage you to go to the link above to fill out the partnership agreement form. Once the completed agreement form is returned to us, you will receive a phone call or email to book an appointment to pick up your test kits.

A designate from each business, responsible for supervising the self-screening collection onsite, will be required to attend the site for the initial pick-up where they will receive video training to properly supervise the screening process and safely dispose of the used kits.
Each business will be required to electronically submit their screening results after each occasion and will be recommended to screen staff twice weekly. The accumulated data will be reported to the Ministry of Health bimonthly.

If test results in a preliminary positive for COVID-19, the employee will be required to leave the workplace, arrange for a PCR Test within 24 hours at an approved COVID-19 assessment site, and self-isolate until a confirmatory test result is received.

If you have any questions about the program please feel free to reach out to the Chamber office at 613-257-1976.
