The Municipality of Mississippi Mills will soon begin work towards the development of phase 3 of the Mississippi Mills Business Park. The work involved includes the installation of a new 350 meter section of roadway with full municipal services. Expanding our Business Park will allow businesses to build or expand in our Municipality resulting eventually in additional job opportunities close to home.
In order to facilitate this work, the Municipality will be removing some trees along the alignment of the new roadway. The tree removal will be taking place starting the week of March 29, 2021. While it is always sad when we must remove trees, the Municipality will ensure riparian plantings of new trees will occur to replace the number trees being removed. This will take place both on-site as part of the landscaping, for trees required in site plan approvals, as well as through the addition of new trees throughout our community. The Municipality has budgeted funds for tree plantings and tree replacement.
We look forward to expanding available business lands to facilitate and increase local employment opportunities in an environmentally friendly way.
