Nomination Period for 2026 Municipal Election Opens May 1

Nominations for the 2026 Municipal Election officially open on May 1.
Nomination papers are available online and candidate packages can be picked up at the Municipal Office as of Monday, April 27. We strongly encourage candidates to contact our Elections team at 613-256-2064 or elections@mississippimills.ca to make an appointment to file your nomination papers.
Do you have a passion for your community? Running for municipal office is your chance to help shape the future of Mississippi Mills from infrastructure and planning to parks and programs.
Eligible candidates may file nomination papers for the following offices:
Municipal Council
- Mayor
- Deputy Mayor
- Councillor – Almonte Ward (2 positions)
- Councillor – Pakenham Ward (1 position)
- Councillor – Ramsay Ward (2 positions)
School Board Trustees
- Upper Canada District School Board (English-Public)
- Conseil des ecoles publiques de l’Est de l’Ontario (French-Public)
- Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario (English-Separate)
- Conseil scolaire de district catholique de l’Est ontarien (French-Separate)
