Mississippi Mills Public Library’s New Year’s Resolutions Suggestions

Try something new and easy in 2024 at the Mississippi Mills Public Library (MMPL).

  1. Read Something Different – Get suggestions! So many ways to find recommendations at the library. Visit the website (www.missmillslibrary.com), ask a librarian or browse the displays.

  2. Learn Something New – Attend a Learning in Almonte course, watch Kanopy documentaries and MMPL YouTube videos, borrow a ukelele, browse the non-fiction and magazine sections.

  3. Master Technology – Book a Tech Tutor appointment or 3D printing class, borrow DIY books.

  4. Cook Something Different – Borrow a cook book, check Kanopy Cooking Fundamentals series online.

  5. Try a Book Club – Gather a group of friends and borrow a Book Club kit, join the MMPL Open Book Club group from the library’s Facebook page.

  6. Learn Another Language – Join French and Spanish conversation groups, stream foreign language movies in Kanopy at home, borrow a language kit.

  7. Have a Winter Date Night – Attend an evening Author Talk, Travelogue or concert at your branch – or just sit quietly together and read at the library!

  8. Date with the Kids – Attend Baby Time or Story Time, take out an Ozobot, MAPsack, Grab & Play game or READy to Go pack! Learn to 3D print together. Visit your other library branch!

  9. Start a Garden – Pick up seeds at the Seed Library, borrow a gardening book, attend a gardening lecture.

  10. Capture Memories – Transfer your old media records to new digital files at the Pakenham Memory Lab, get help from the Tech Tutor.

And a bonus: MMPL lends snowshoes with sizes for the whole family / lots of friends!
