Environment Canada Issues Snowfall, Freezing Rain Warnings

Environment Canada has issued two weather warnings that will affect Mississippi Mills and region this weekend (March 28-30). 

Snowfall warning – tonight into Saturday

The first is a snowfall warning in effect for this evening. Significant snowfall (10-20 cm) will begin late this afternoon with heavy snow continuing into the evening. Snow may become lighter Saturday morning but continue through much of the day. Ice pellets are also possible.

Visibility may be affected due to heavy snow. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. 

Freezing rain weather statement – Sunday 

The region is also expecting a prolonged period of freezing rain on Sunday, March 30. Ice buildup of 5-10 mm is possible which may produce power outages, slippery surfaces and broken tree branches. 

The freezing rain will begin early Sunday morning and continue into Sunday evening.
